GTA San Andreas Remake in Unreal Engine 5

A talented indie developer has created the Grand Theft Auto San Andreas remake we should have had all along. If only Rockstar gave us this game.

When Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was released in November 2021, it wasn’t great, to say the least. This collection featured remasters of Rockstar Games’ finest from the iconic GTA series.

The GTA San Andreas remaster Definitive Edition released in November 2021 still hurts fans of the original. From incorrect details to major bugs, the remasters that were meant to be a celebration of classics still leaves a sour taste. When news first broke the remasters would be running on Unreal Engine 4, there was hope the games would look realistic for today’s new standard. This was unfortunately not the case as they used the mobile ports as a base.

.Unreal Engine 5 Concept.

The YouTube channel TeaserPlay make concepts in Unreal Engine 5. They take fan favourite classics and see how they would look as a remake or even make their own new game concept trailers. These include The Mandalorian and The Flash.
One of their latest videos shows their concept for what they’d like to see if Grand Theft Auto San Andreas got a full remake treatment running on Unreal Engine 5. This video is actually a three-part concept series and the first video is titled Part 1: Los Santos. TeaserPlay say “We decided to make three videos of GTA San Andreas Remake, the next two parts will take place in San Fierro and Las Ventures. We used Unreal Engine 5 to make this video and tried to recreate the huge nostalgia feeling in this game with new gen technology.”

IS THIS WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN?

However, that does not excuse the poor state that this GTA Remastered Trilogy launched in. It’s unlikely that we’ll ever get a proper remake of this classic trilogy, thankfully, a fan has taken matters into their own hands and it’s pure wizardry. The developer that has worked such magic is YouTuber TeaserPlay, a name that you may already recognise. TeaserPlay is responsible for an amazing remake of Assassin’s Creed set in ancient Japan. In fact, TeaserPlay’s YouTube channel is packed full of amazing remakes, so you should check it out via the link below.
Furthermore, as with all recent remakes created by TeaserPlay, the GTA San Andreas recreation is powered by Unreal Engine 5, and it looks incredible. We see its protagonist (or antagonist) Carl Johnson exploring Los Santos glazed beneath a beautiful sunset with GTA San Andreas instantly recognisable soothing soundtrack.

.WE CAN ONLY DREAM OF PLAYING THIS SAN ANDREAS.

Unfortunately, we’ll never get to play this amazing GTA san andreas, as it’s just a concept and an idea of what could have been. This is no doubt the remake we always wanted, but sadly will probably never get.
